Backstory: Follow Friday is a long-time twitter tradition where users suggest people to follow and tag it with the “hashtag” #FF or #FollowFriday. I personally prefer #FF. It is much shorter and by now most people on twitter know what it means. I’ve decided that instead of sending out #FF tweets, I will be featuring one twitter user a week and showcasing them (in more than 140 Characters) in a blog format.
My first Follow Friday (#FF) is dedicated to Gresham Oregon’s best Martial Arts school, Dragon Brand Martial Arts, aka @DBMartialArts on Twitter.
The owners of Dragon Brand Martial Arts are a husband and wife team, Pandy and Paul Buffington. They also happen to be my best friends for nearly 15 years.
I began training in Tae Kwon Do with them in Grants Pass, OR in 1998 and in 2001 I moved away. They both continued training and when they were ready to open up their own school, they located themselves near me in Gresham and set up shop.
I can’t say enough good things about them. Pandy and Paul are respectively the Maid of Honor and Best Man at my upcoming wedding. I don’t keep too many people close to me, especially for that long and over that many miles of moving.
So, if you are looking for Martial Arts training in the Gresham – Troutdale area, there is only one school I recommend and that is Dragon Brand Martial Arts. Heck, even if you live in Portland or Vancouver and don’t mind a small trip for quality training, I still suggest Dragon Brand Martial Arts in Gresham.
